Dr. Tao is a licensed clinical psychologist who received her Ph.D. from Concordia University. She has extensive training in various hospital settings, university settings and private practices. She provides individual therapy to adults, older adults, teenagers (14+) as well as couple therapy to clients from diverse cultural backgrounds.
She works with a wide range of issues such as depression, anxiety, trauma, identity development, relationship difficulties, stress and work- related issues, adjustment and life transitions, coping with illness and personal growth.
Dr. Tao’s approach is integrative and tailored to each client’s needs. She is client-centred and aims to provide a safe, warm and collaborative environment. She strives to understand each client’s unique story within their socio-cultural context, and adopts a strength-based perspective.
She draws from evidence-based approaches including acceptance and commitment, schema, psychodynamic, emotionally-focused, cognitive-behavioral and dialectical behavioral therapy.
Dr. Dan Tao speaks English and Mandarin and is a current member of L’Ordre des Psychologues du Québec (Permit #14437-21).
